QUESTIONS?
WE’VE GOT ANSWERS!
Q: When should I arrive?
A: Wedding festivities will begin for most wedding guests on Friday, October 15, 2021 and conclude the evening of Sunday, October 17, 2021. Details on events throughout the weekend are listed on the Events page of our website. For the “wedding party”, you should plan to arrive by Thursday midday. We’ll send you details on that separately! We hope that you will come and make a weekend of it, and maybe even extend a couple days before or after to get the full experience and time in the sun!
Q: Where should I fly into and where should I stay?
A: Check out our Travel page for more details on where to fly and where to stay. Feel free to call or text us if you have any questions or need help with booking!
Q: Are kids allowed?
A: As much as we love all of the kiddos, our wedding weekend is filled with mostly adult-only events. Kids are welcome to accompany you on the trip, but you’ll have to arrange for sitters for various events. Events that are adult-only include: Friday Welcome Drinks, Saturday by the pool and golfing, Wedding Ceremony and Reception, and Wedding After Party. Our recommendation is, that if possible, to leave the kids at home and come have an adult-only, worry free vacation. I mean, we’ve all been in quarantine long enough, a weekend away for mom and dad sounds pretty nice, right?
Q: What are the details of the Events for the weekend?
A: Check out our Events page of our website for more details on the events throughout the weekend. Don’t worry, it’s not fully scheduled, so make sure you also look at the Recommendations page for some suggestions on things to do around Palm Springs.
Q: What is the appropriate attire for each event and how are you defining your attire terms on the Events page?
A: If you are anything like Ingrid, you usually spend an exorbitant amount of time packing/deciding what attire is appropriate for the occasion and location. Here are a few tips for what to pack and wear throughout the weekend.
Daytime Attire: Palm Springs is relaxed and low key. You can get away with anything appropriate for warm weather. Make sure you pack a swimsuit, as the pools are one of the main highlights!
Nighttime Attire: No one needs to get too dressed up when going out in Palm Springs, and a lot of time your daytime outfits are perfect for nighttime. We do suggest bringing a jacket or something else to layer with, as the desert can drop in temperature at night.
Athleisure: Highly recommend packing some comfy athletic clothes that can go from a hike to coffee to lounging by the pool.
Welcome Drinks: Desert casual, meaning you can wear whatever you’re comfortable with! Palm Springs is a little trendy, so feel free to throw on something fun to join us for drinks in the bar!
Golf Tournament: For those of you who plan to play in our fun wedding golf tournament, please bring appropriate golf attire. This means no jeans, golf shoes, and a collared shirt.
Wedding Ceremony & Reception - Formal: Our wedding is formal and we’re asking that guests dress up and get their fancy on! This means suits for men (darker preferred!) and something dressier for women. Wear that long dress that’s been sitting in the back or your closet or bust out that black tie ready jumpsuit! The skies the limit and we hope you have fun getting fancy with us! Tip: Ladies, the venue has a mix of patio space that is a bit uneven and grass for the ceremony. While I will be wearing stilettos, please think about this when you select your footwear.
Q: What kind of weather can I expect during October in Palm Springs?
A: October should be absolutely gorgeous in Palm Springs (and cooling down a bit!) with the average temperature in October being 91° during the day and 62° at night. As with all trips, we recommend that you check the weather the week prior to arriving to ensure you are prepared.
Q: What do you recommend doing in Palm Springs?
A: Palm Springs is so fun and has so many things to do! We personally love hanging by the pool and then doing some daytime adventures like hiking and motorcycling through Palm Springs and the surrounding areas. We have a whole list of things like food, drink, and exploring options on our Recommendations page. Check it out! If you have any questions or want additional insight please feel free to call or text us!
Q: I want to be like Adam and rent a motorcycle while I’m there! Where should I rent and what do I need to do?
A: Awesome! First, do you have a motorcycle license and actually know how to ride a motorcycle? No? Then you can’t, but rent a car and drive! Yes? Great! Adam rents through Eagle Rider, which is located at the Harley Davidson dealership in Palm Springs. If you’re serious and want more information, call or text us and we can help get you the information you need.
Q: How are you thinking about planning and COVID-19?
A: Great question. We are currently monitoring the COVID-19 situation very closely and will be adjusting plans accordingly. We are hopeful that we’ll still be moving in a positive direction October, but if we’ve learned anything in the last year nothing is promised. Right now, we are considering all options and have multiple back-up plans. Here are a few details of things we’re planning for and suggesting for our guests:
Refundable Flights/Hotels: We recommend that people get flights and hotels booked as soon as possible. However, please make sure that flights and hotels are both refundable. Most of what we’ve been seeing is that all of them are currently, but please check the fine print before booking. Tip: We are seeing that hotels are being more lenient than Airbnb’s/VRBO’s with last minute cancellations, so would suggest maybe booking a hotel instead. Check out our Travel page for more details.
Masks & Sanitation: We are fully expecting that masks and hand sanitizer will continue to be our friend in October. We suggest that you bring masks with you to Palm Springs. Make it fashion! Get one that matches you fancy wedding attire! We’re also planning to have masks and hand sanitizer available at all wedding weekend events and are working closely with our vendors on their health and safety practices.
Social Distancing: If social distancing is still mandatory, we have multiple options for how to set-up our venue so that everyone can attend safely. As we get closer we can share more details about this and you might even see something on the formal invite to help us determine the best way to make all of our guests feel safe.
Testing/Vaccinations: Free vaccines at the wedding! Just kidding. Before traveling we highly recommend that people do get completely vaccinated. This is to keep yourselves and all of our guests safe. Depending on where we are with COVID at that time, we may consider suggesting that people get tested before arriving in Palm Springs. We obviously cannot mandate this, but given we both have family members that are older and/or immune compromised we want to make sure that everyone is as safe as possible.
